General Graduate School requirements for the M.S. and Ph.D. programs are outlined in the K-State Graduate Handbook. Students are advised to study carefully the portion pertaining to the degree they seek.

It is expected that graduate students in our thesis-option M.S. and Ph.D. programs will conduct research that will lead to publication in a refereed journal by the completion of their degree. M.S. non-thesis projects generally are published in a variety of formats including refereed journals, trade journals, popular press, extension bulletins, and websites.

Following are specific departmental guidelines for each of our programs:

Graduate Certificates:

  • Graduate Certificate in Horticultural Therapy
  • Graduate Certificate in Advanced Horticulture

Graduate Degree Programs:
  • M.S. in Horticulture
  • M.S. in Horticulture, Urban Food Systems Specialization
  • Concurrent B.S./M.S. in Horticulture
  • Ph.D. in Horticulture
