The Department of Horticulture, Forestry, and Recreation Resources at Kansas State University has a long and strong history of providing an excellent undergraduate education in Horticulture, Park Management and Conservation, and Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management. These majors lead to a variety of career options such as landscape designer, parks superintendent, golf course manager, hunting/fishing resort manager, shooting sports facility manager, and grower of horticultural crops. We offer a Minor in Horticulture for students interested in including horticultural expertise in their college education.
We also offer graduate degree programs that lead to a M.S. or Ph.D. in Horticulture. Our graduate faculty guide student research in areas including horticultural therapy, plant stress physiology, turf science, and applied research with ornamental crops.
