As the State Master Gardener Coordinator, Mr. Upham works a lot with the education component of the program, teaching classes at each of the 10 sites statewide.

Through the Internet, Upham publishes the weekly Horticulture Newsletter, which is written primarily for homeowners. The newsletter addresses common plant problems, basic plant care, and also features a “Pest of the Week.”

Also, Upham runs the Horticulture Response Center, which was started in 1996. The program is known for its’ Rapid Response' with 90% of questions answered within 24 hours.
